“I wanted to tell you how touched I was that you came to the hospital on Christmas Day. My son had already been in the hospital for a week and was feeling sad to still be there on Christmas. You brought him a beanie bear and a candy cane and you made him very happy. I was overwhelmed. Thanks for what you did for my son and me. I will forever be grateful.”
“Thanks again for your prayers, kindness, and sincere gifts.”
Below is a video that the Walker family created to thank the Teel family for their Caroling Caravan visit.
“Dear Tim and Marie,
It was such an honor to get to personally hear your story and spend some time with you today. For more than nine years I have wanted to thank you in person for the amazing encouragement you blessed me with on one of the worst days of my life (at Florida Hospital Orlando, 12/25/03).
Here’s the story of that Christmas Day in 2003, as told to my sister in an email:
Michael was in the hospital in Orlando at age 10 starting on Christmas Eve. On Christmas Day, Marie and a team of carolers came to our room in the PICU. They sang carols, brought cookies, prayed with me and encouraged me on a day when we didn’t know if Michael was going to live. He had a 106.7 fever, double pneumonia, MRSA – I will never forget how much it meant to me to have someone visit us!
Tim and Marie, meeting you today [at a church function] made it such a sweet day. I could sense the Holy Spirit using both of our families and both of our stories to hopefully draw others closer to Him. I am in awe and I admire you both so much for the amazing ministry you have carried out to such an “exceedingly abundant” amount. So many thousands of people and families are touched with your love and service of Christ in an unexpected and wonderful way. It gives me more encouragement to look to Him and make sure that I am doing all I can to help our Michael’s “purpose” be carried out.
Thank you again for being an awesome blessing to my family and so many others. I’ll be praying for your family and ministry.”
“It was such a blessing for my daughter and me to share Christmas with the children at the hospital. I was very touched and can’t wait to serve on Christmas Day next year.” – Julie
