Toy Drive FAQs

How can I help collect toys for Nathaniel’s Toy Store?

It’s easy – just three simple steps:

  1. Visit web page, Christmas with Nathaniel’s Hope: Host a Toy Drive.
  2. Decide whether you would like to host a Traditional Toy Drive or a Virtual Toy Drive.
  3. Click the Host a Toy Drive button to register your toy drive.

What is a Traditional Toy Drive?

A traditional toy drive is a community effort to collect new, unwrapped toys for VIPs and their siblings who are in need.

Individuals, businesses, community organizations, churches, and schools can set up collection locations where people can donate toys. Once your drive is complete, you will collect the donated toys and deliver them to the designated toy drop-off location (details coming soon).

What is a Virtual Toy Drive?

A virtual toy drive is a convenient way to support Nathaniel’s Toy Shop from the comfort of your home or office.

Instead of collecting physical toys, participants purchase gifts online through platforms such as Amazon. By creating and sharing a wish list, you can easily invite friends, family members, and colleagues to participate. Donated items are shipped directly to support children with special needs and their siblings.

Who Does Nathaniel’s Toy Shop Serve?

Nathaniel’s Toy Shop provides Christmas gifts to families who need assistance purchasing gifts for their children with special needs (VIPs) and their siblings.

Nathaniel’s Toy Shop serves VIPs (individuals with Value and Incredible Purpose who have disabilities) who are registered members of our VIP Birthday Club and have an active VIP membership number. We primarily serve VIP children from birth through age 18, along with their siblings.

For VIPs over the age of 17, we focus on individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities whose functional or developmental level is comparable to that of a child age 17 or younger. Because the toys we receive are intended for children and teens, they are generally best suited for individuals with a developmental age of 17 or under.

Is there a list of toys available to guide my toy drive?

Yes! We provide toy wish lists to help guide your donations and ensure we receive items that best meet the needs of our VIP families.

  • Stuffed animals that are not brand new
  • Toys that are violent, graphic, or frightening in nature

We appreciate your help in ensuring all donated toys are new, safe, and appropriate for our VIPs.

Can we send toys through Amazon?

Yes, you can view and select items from our lists to include in your traditional toy drive or have shipped directly to us.  We thank you in advance for your gift!
