Nathaniel’s Neighbor is made possible by volunteers throughout Central Florida. While we can’t guarantee every request can be matched, we’ll do our best to connect your family with a caring volunteer and coordinate a time that works for everyone.

Is there a cost?

No, participation is completely free.

Who can request a celebration?

VIP families celebrating a birthday, milestone, special accomplishment, or other meaningful life event.

What does a visit look like?

Nathaniel’s Neighbor volunteers come to your home and typically gather outside on the porch, driveway, or in the yard. Every celebration is unique, but visits often include a balloon, poster, or another special item to recognize the occasion. Depending on the family’s preferences and the nature of the celebration, volunteers may sing, celebrate together, share words of encouragement, offer fist bumps, or even hugs. Our goal is to make sure each VIP feels seen, celebrated, and loved.

Will my child enjoy this?

Every VIP is unique and may respond differently to a visit. While we can’t predict exactly how each child will react, our hope is that every VIP walks away knowing they are celebrated, valued, and appreciated for who they are.

Who are these volunteers?

Nathaniel’s Neighbor volunteers are caring individuals, families, churches, and groups from your community. We equip and encourage them with ideas and guidelines to help create a meaningful celebration and connect them with families who would enjoy a visit.

Every family has different needs and experiences. Many families tell us they weren’t quite sure what to expect from a Nathaniel’s Neighbor visit or how their child would respond.
